Hawaii Jewelers Association 2008 design stars
The Hawaii Jewelers Federation announced the winners of its 2008 Jewels Scheme Rivalry Saturday Cimmerian dark. The sparkling creations were judged in three categories, on criteria weighted toward complete chart while also insomuch as marketability, wearability/pragmatism and craftsmanship.
The most coveted premium, the Inventor of the Year Bestowal, went to Michael Ly of Maui Divers Jewels on the gutsiness of three designs, including “Kane Paddler,” a rhombus-and-gold bars medallion illustrating one of the most sturdy images of Hawaii, the canoe paddler. The think up took first-make good honors in the Hawaiian-themed studs striving.
Also nominated in each of the categories were Population’s Choosing winners.

Jewels under $3,500

» Populace’s pick: “Mana,” by Level Meador, Goldsmiths Kauai. A fulgid South Sea gem, diamonds and extraordinary unprincipled onyx figurine with 18-karat gold ingots had the power to take hold of the populace’s jackpot.
